fuel pressure dropping while sitting in traffic idling
Hey guys, trying to diagnose a problem here, i just failed NJ inspection again because as i was sitting in a line of traffic at the inspection station my afr gradually climbed to about 16-16.5:1 and the engine started missing. I noticed that my fuel pressure had dropped from 43.5 which i had set it too at operating temp, and idling at 775 (where i have it set to) to about 39psi. If you romp on the gas a couple times, pressure slowly increases, until you are back where you need to be.
I have a walbro 255 (non hp) fuel pump that i just installed a few months ago, fuel filter was replaced a year ago, AEM fpr regulator rising on a 1:1 ratio with boost, and bosch type2 420cc injectors.
Ive never heard of these cars having an issue with factory wiring being insufficient, i can only assume either a clog, or voltage drop at the pump seeing as the pump is new, but i cant imagine what the cause would be.

Whats your charge voltage at idle? after idling for a while with whatever accesories on that you were running at the time.
Probably easiest to start there then get into checking voltage at the pump itself.

I've had two Walbro HP's go bad. I would not rule that out. One of them started pumping weak and soon after died. The other just stopped pumping while I was driving down the freeway.
