fuel injector help
Does anyone know if the rc engineering 310cc injectors out of a 99 ls motor will work in a 94 ls motor??? I was not sure if obd 1 and 2 took the same injector.. I tried rc engineerings web site, but could not find a parts list......Thanks
I have the injectors from the greddy turbo kit, but my car at the time was an obd2 vehicle(99 integra ls). Now, I have a 94 integra ls motor in my 92 h/b and I would like to use these injectors for my turbo setup...I just wanted to know if the obd 1 and obd 2 injectors were interchangable before I tried putting them in...
They will work, but not very well. The injectors should match the ECU. IE OBD 1 ecu with obd1 injectors will work the best. The obd2 injectors will work (wire on the new clip), but you will have a rough idle due to the ecu and injectors not matching.

Can anyone verify this? I highly doubt that. Whats the difference besides the actual clip??

i highly doubt that as well,,, however the clipps do look different, the obd 1 clips have some little plastic thing on the top of them, i ran obd2 everything under the hood in my 93 hatch,,, the ecu was 94-95 gsr though, and i never had a problem,,,, ive never heard of anybody having problems like that,,, that means that everybody with an obd2 gsr, or si swap in thier 92-95 civics has a rough idle, no way!!!!!!!!!!!
ok here it is,,, all rc injectors use either thier "own" RC clips or obd1 clips,,,, when you buy rc's from them you need obd1 clips, or you have to get thiers,, im almost 100% sure of that, the clips dont matter,,,,,,,do you actually think that everyone with an obd2 gsr/si swap in thier 92-95 has a rough idle??? everybody uses the p72 ecu in them. and if you have a newer motor you have obd2 everything under the hood???? and the wire colors on the injectors on obd2 cars and obd1 cars are exactly the same the clip is just slightly different,,,, same ****
Perhaps if they are RCs it doesnt matter, but with the stock injectors, I know i had that problem, as did others who trouble shooted with problem with me. So im only speaking from my personal experience.
It does not matter if the injectors are for OBD 2 or OBD 1 there is no difference besides the clip. Just make sure that they are 310's and nothing bigger cuase factory honda ecu will only support 310cc injectors anything bigger will and the injectors will freeze up.

Youre partially right...
the injectors wont freeze up, you will just get WAY too much fuel. The Stock ecu opens the injectors based on the 240cc sized nozzle. If you have say, a 720cc injector, the ECU will open the injectors the same amount of time as it would a 240cc injector...this means almost 3 times as much fuel was sprayed because the nozzle is so much larger!
This is why the VAFC hack(SMC) is used, to trim out the amount of time the injectors stay open, so that larger injecors can be used w/out flooding the engine...

So with using 310 cc injectors on a stock ecu is ok??? I heard it will work fine... Another interesting note is that vortech uses 310 cc injectors, 6 to 1 fmu an a 255 walbro in-tank pump with the supercharger kit they sell... Apparently vortech thinks its ok to run this set-up since it is part of their kit..

A resistor box? Did you change your injectors to P&H?

HMMMMM from what I have heard they will actually freeze up cuase the factory ECU can not support anything bigger then 310. Cuase it wouldn't be bad if there was just alot of fuel going in to the cylinders thats the point of bigger injectors. I would like to find some site that would be a good source for info on that ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
