hello,
have you got an idea of boost or power capacity for a stock H22 sleeves with a closed-deck engine block?
thanx.

They can hold much more than the oem piston, and you can put only mahl gold forge piston in it, you can't put convensional forge piston

Yes, thank you.
I know that

I installed those pistons in my engine (9to1 comp).

before I had a B18 with Darton MID sleeves (700WHP + ) . no problem.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/eg-awsd-h22-turbo-4wd-4ws-2612390/

there, I want to try the FRM liner, nobler for cooling.

and I would like to have information about the max boost of these sleeves (with MAHLE pistons forged, of course).
I add that my block is a jdm h22a therefore closed-deck

Tops myself, I would maybe run 17psi. That may be pushing the limit though.

you are not going to be able to go past 11 psi on the stock motor, the ringlands on the stock pistons are weak. but with 11psi on the stock motor and the right setup plus good tune you'll make decent power.

they are not the stocks pistons but mahle pistons gold series.

I only uncertainty about the strength of the closed-deck frm-liner sleeves. Honda said it's stronger than cast iron sleeves.

FIBER-REINFORCED METAL CYLINDER LINERS
Instead of cast iron, the Prelude engine block's cylinder liners are made of a metal-matrix composite material Honda calls fiber-reinforced metal (FRM). FRM is a mixture of carbon fiber and aluminum oxide that, when used in cylinder liners, offers several advantages over conventional cast-iron liners. For example, FRM liners transfer heat to the cylinder water jackets more rapidly. This allows engine designers to build a smaller, more compact engine and cooling system. The designer may elect to keep the same size engine, but increase its power output. Honda engine designers elected to keep engine size and power output fixed and utilize FRM's superior heat-transfer capabilities to increase engine durability.

Since FRM is a ceramic-based material (aluminum oxide is a ceramic used for spark plug insulators), it also exhibits higher wear resistance than cast iron. This results in potentially longer engine life.

Finally, FRM liners weigh less than cast-iron liners, thereby helping to minimize engine weight.

I would like the experience of someone who has the boost with mahle pistons gold series (and then stock sleeves).
thanx

yes its true FRM cylinders are very strong, the only thing is the only piston you can run in there is the mahle gold, I dont know how long ago you got those pistons but they are discontinued they were having problems with the coating wearing off..call them up and find out exactly why they discontinued them because I dont know from experience this is just what I was told when i tried to buy a set of them.

I bought them there is one month ago, they are in the block. I didn't start the engine again.
I found two sellers said me they were in stock at mahle factory. the first seller I chose was faster and cheaper.
but thank you for your information. I sent an e-mail to mahle.

Lol - Mahle did not discontinue those Pistons - they just fixed the problems they were having YEARS ago. Mahle Tech told me last week that the pistons work fine now and the coating on the Pistons are good for 100,000 MILES AT LEAST (with a correctly built setup obviously). I have the email if anyone wants to see it.

There is just too much rumors going around about these wow - I can't wait to try them and post up some numbers...lol. Soxle did you hone your block - its hard to tell if you did from your pic but after spending alot of time researching these and the frm block structure I would say that its most advisable to hone the block or get a 100% clean bore block.

20 PSI on a GT35R, 20 PSI on a S368 Perhaps or 20 PSI on a IHI-RHB5 lol. I dunno why Mahle did not mention that the cfm on any turbo is what makes the difference...

Have you ever used these and speak from experience using them?
