Forged DohcZC
Does anyone know were I can get forged pistons and rods for a dohc zc THAT DO NOT HAVE TO BE MODIFIED TO FIT THE STOCK BLOCK. I am talking taking out the old ones and droping in the new ones. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

unless you want to spend a fortune to get someone to machine a tall d16 pistons (zc's have big combustion chambers unlike the other d's so they need the piston to take up more room keeping the compression in check) with 19mm wrist pins you're s hit out of luck.
all d' forged slugs i've seen used 20mm wrist pins; either get a set of $300 h-beams from tuner toys or machine you some LS rods to fit in a D16

I heard that you have to notch the block to fit h-beam rods. I just want something that drops in the block no drama included. SO there are no piston in the market will fit a dohc zc with out doing fabrication.

Can you give a estimate of how much it would cost to get the pistons modified. and is there another way to get aftermarket pistons or anthing other than stock that can handle anywhere between 220 to 250whp daily.

And also there is a company called eyndn or something like that that sells pistons for the zc and the d16a1.

dude
just get some eagle rods; and soem wiesco pistons. new you proably won't spend $700 shipped for both and parts to notch your block. i know wiesco makes pistons for the zc
or just buy some pistons and get some ls rods machined (maybe $100 for all that)
and you can't moddify forged pistons to fit the puney stock d16 rods

Re: Forged DohcZC (ComputerJLT)
So the wiesco pistons and eaglel rods are a drop in affair just have to get the block notch. Don't mean to be a pest it just there isn't a lot of information about the dohc zc when it come s to building the block. THANKS FOR THE HELP.

the same rules apply to the dohc zc as any other d16; same bore stroke blah blah blah. The pistons however have to be taller to compensate for the large combustion chamber; other d's have amaller chambers and can use shorter (lower compression) pistons

je and endyn make pistons for the zc engine, but they are both .020 over bore or 75.5 so you would have to bore out the engine either way. Eagle and Tuner Toys claim that their new rods do not require notching the block.

why do you want to get forged internals to handle 220-250 whp on a dohc zc?
i have a freind ruunning 260whp on 13-14psi on a custom turbo kit with a ct26 turbocharger from a 7m supra motor, with a completly bone stock zc daily driver
you can pick up a newzc for like $450-$550 if you're not going to be running more hp than 250 i dont see the point of going forged judt my 2cents

Re: Forged DohcZC (eazycivic)
I would Like to build the block to support more horsepower than I am trying to achieve (over build). I would rather shell out the money now than have to get another motor in the future.
