Default fmu question

do they lock up or not work sometimes. i'm running a msd fuel pump and 12:1 fmu for my fuel to my boosted 5psi b16a. sometimes i run lean and sometimes i run fine. wat could be causing this. i also hear a weird sound when i run let like a loose metal peice ringing, hard to explain. but wat could be causing the leanness.

The reason a lot of people dislike fmu's is because they can cause uneven spraying of the fuel our of the injectors which will create "hot spots" on your pistons. This is due to your injectors not being able to flow enough fuel, reguardless of the pressure. Honestly, at 5psi i wouldnt think this would be the problem though. The "metal ringing" or like crumpling up sound of aluminum paper is most likely detonation, thats very bad to hear. So until you get dyno tuned, stop running your car hard because you dont want to melt your pistons.
