I know its been beat to death. We are putting a DRAG kit on my friends hatch this week, he got RC 550s, which FMU disc is ideal?

what? you want to use an fmu with some 550's. dont think you can do that. good luck trying to get a car to idle using the stock injector pulse. i think the lowest disk they make is like an 8:1 any way.

i believe they also make 6:1, 4:1, 2:1.

however, since your friend is running a stock ecu, don't think he can handle the 550cc injectors. too much fuel.

 

How much is he boosting? Unless it's something like 12+psi, he's not going to need any FMU. How does he plan to idle those 550's?

 

would a 8:1 disc be ok for stock 97 accord lx injectors? we are turboing my friends car right now and that is the disc that he bought. i thought that it was too small for the stock injectors which i think are like 240cc but he said he called sfp and they said that it would be fine. If in fact that that disc is too small, what is the biggest size injector that he can use with that disc? 310, 340, how about some dsm 450cc can those idle well with the 8:1 fmu?

 

first, fmu has nothing to do with idle. you MAY be able to get 450cc injectors to idle using a VAFC, it has been done, but I'd say youre much better off buying hondata or a standalone at that point.

8:1 with stock injectors should be fine - just try to keep boost low when running an fmu and stock injectors - I'd say 7-8psi max will be safe
