FMAX TURBO KIT/Power Problems
I just finished installing a FMAX/Turbonetics stage 2 turbo kit in my 1999 Accord. I am having some problems with it. During accleration when the turbo is cutting in it seems that the car is bogging down, it i push it too hard there is a back firing sound(detonation i believe). After i get past about 4000rpm it runs great. I just have problems in the lower rpm range. PLEASE HELP ME I TRIED TO SEARCH THE SITE BEFORE ASKING BUT DID NOT FIND ANYTHING!
cutting out usually means you are running way to rich . . . . what are you using for fuel managment? Take your car around the block and do a couple WOT (wide open throttle) pulls and check the spark plugs.
Might have tp ;lean out the lower RPM's some. you mentioned that you are bogging that's also another sign of to much fuel aka running rich

I am running a MF2 that came with the kit. I think it just controls the two additional injectors(not sure at all on that). I have a Apex-i VAFC on the way. I figure when that comes i would just go get it dynoed and tuned.
Also, I have a Apex-i Auto Timer that reads A/F and it says in the instructions that 20 means lean and 10 means rich. When i bogg down it its 20 and detontation occurs sometimes. It seems that your right and its rich but the Apexi says it is lean unless I am a complete dumb *** and read the instuctions wrong multiple times.
Perhaps the MF2 isn't supplying enough fuel during the transition into boost? Sounds like you need to get to a dyno w/ a wideband O2 sensor to really see what's going on.

Your best bet is to pull the plugs and read them to tell if you are lean or rich. the loud poping is proably un burnt fuel combusting in the exhaust pipes. pull a plug and read it. My bet is that the 2 injectors are coming on to soon and boging the car down
i had the same problem with my fmax kit. THe problem is that the map sensor for the MF2 was tee'd with the same vacuum source as the check valves. make sure you give a good vacuum signal to the MF2 and check rpm signal as well. IF that doesnt help send the unit back and make sure the have it programmed correctly
hope this helps... and quit driving under those conditions until you figure it out.
