Default Flywheel Myth

Are flywheels any good.well if you have some bolt ons maybe.
Just installed one on a stock b16a nothing else done.Raced against another stock b16a and lost. Both cars were identical except for my flywheel.Well in saying lost i pulled 3/4 car length ahead from 1st - 3rd gear and once we hit 4th he pulled back the gap and passed me.(have a vid will try and post it).
My thoughts about this are dont bother getting a flywheel unless you are making decent power already.
Will have to see what happens with my intake, full exhaust and vafc2.

why is this in fi???

a flywheel causes the revs to drop more inbetween shifts so you have to be quicker shifting... it also allows the motor to rev faster

Racing another car is a horrible way of comparing products. Nothing is held constant, my guess is it was because of the driver. This is what dynos, datalogs, and tracks are for.

Like earlier posted you probably lost rpm in shift, since it can rev quicker also can decrease just the same. Alot of people just resurface their stock one. Practice shifting, and dont determine product failure do to street racing.
