Does anybody have any flow #'s of ported VTEC heads (B18C1 & C5/16A) vs. a ported B18/20 head? I'm just wondering if the difference really is as large as everybody tells me. Thanks!

Great question.. I'd like to know as well. I wonder if a nicely ported non-VTEC head could flow as well as a ported VTEC head.

I think the true point of it all is that you'd be able to spool quicker with the smaller lobes down low before VTEC crossover.. just a guess

Re: Flow Numbers: ported VTEC vs. ported LS (HybridKOOP)
I think I remember seeing on the Alaniz website some flow rates for a ported gsr head. May have a ls head to, but not really sure. Hell, Im not even totally sure it was on his website....Damn, I dont even know what his website is....oh well

Re: Flow Numbers: ported VTEC vs. ported LS (1bar)
the real question to me is whether the ported ls/b20 head would need intake valves the same size as the vtec head in order to even untilize the larger port work.

Re: Flow Numbers: ported VTEC vs. ported LS
I've tested a stock Gsr head with stock valve job stock valves and at .600 lift it flowed 276 cfm. I've never got a chance to test my ls bc it's really not wroth it. I'm going to flow 3 different heads tomorrow. 2 Gsr with different valve jobs one with 5 angle and one with 3 angle both full ported, b16 with 4 angles with full port. Hopefully they get close to 340+ cfm. Bc I ported and machined a y8 that made 340 cfm

Apparently he is going through and bumping quite a few posts with his ZOMG I ported a z6 head to 340cfm posts.

That was a good video back in the day with cheesefrog racing the viper.
