Floating Wrist Pin????
Ok I just got these new Wiseco 9:3-1 Pistons for my 99 Ls and they have a floating wrist pin. Is this going to be ok since the stock pistons only had the standard lock pin? What could happen if I put these pistons in? Good/Bad?
OEM Honda B-series piston/rod combos don't use any sort of wire lock and only the pistons float. The wrist pin is interference fit with the small-end of the rod.
I've seen JUN forged pistons used with stock P72R rods, so it might not be totally out of the question to use them with OEM Honda rods.
Check the wrist pin to piston clearance. I believe the usual amount of clearance is right around half a ten-thou to a thou.

You will be ok to use the stock rod with these pistons just press the wrist pin into your stock rod that is where the interference fit is. then u do not have to use the lock rings. they are only for use with rods that have a bushed end.
