Default flange question and manifold compatibility

Currently i have a SFP manifold with a t3 flange. I tore down my motor because GE is doing another sleeve job on it, this time with a deck plate and 6" rods. But to get tot he point, i want to reuse the maniold but cut off the t3 flange and jsut tig on a t4 to run a larger turbo. Is this possible or is the dimensions way too far off? Should i jsut sell the manifold and buy another one?

just cut it weld on t4 and you should be okay.

its a pretty big pain in the *** to cut the flange and weld on a t4 flange. Also once you do this, the volume of the collector will have shrunken considerably. Alot of people dont realize that the collector volume plays a part in the turbos response but it does. Its like a plenum on an intake manifold

I reocmmend makin a t3 to t4 adaptor plate. I can make one for you if youd like. Cutting the flnage off will most likely ruin the manifold.

Yes, the adaptor plate would be so much easier. Plus they are so simple, the ony bad thing is how it will lower the turbo some.

Lowering the turbo down a little may not be such a bad thing in his case.

Well i really dont want to lower it much if any at all. I run a t3/60-1 right now and im not that impressed with it. I basicaly maxed it oiut and threw a 120 shot on it and it feels about right but its a bitch to tune. I figure ill jsut get GE to do a deck plate and take the rod ratio to near perfect, throw a T66 on it and rev the **** out of it at like 30 psi. I have to get it sleeved anyway since i fucked up my last set of GE sleeves. If i have to ill get a new manifold my Jethot coated SFP one with less than 1K miles on it wont be hard to sell. FFGeoff you have anything in mind that you may want to make me.

i would weld a 1/2" t3 flange to a 1/2" t4 flange with 8 3/8 x 20 studs sticking out of each flange. Just put 8 nuts on to this. I also have a t4 flanged equal length manifold i custom made for someone who i think may not be interested anymore... (havent heard back) so i guess thats for sale.
