Default AN fitting size

I made a mistake. Planning to run -10 drain hardline, i purchased -10 nut and tube sleeve and 0.625" tubing, thinking that -10, being 10/16 = 5/8" = 0.625" OD.
i was wrong. The tubing is too small. i suspect that -10 fitting is made for a hose that has a much larger diameter than -10 itself.
Which leads me to this question, which OD tubing do i need to do a -10 flare nut and sleeve drain, 0.797"?

The tube fittings are listed by inner diameter iirc

yes, this is a first turbo install i have done. i'm no neophyte when it comes to fabrication nevertheless. i ask questions for two reasons, ask people who are much more knowledgeable than me and to generate content so someone can simply search and get answers. the hardline is better in few areas, the cross section of a tube is larger than the hose in the same AN size, i KNOW the quality will be good, unlike the two hoses i purchased, i don't like bolting bought things on and i like the way hardlines look (working with experimental aircraft spoiled me).

Nice. didnt know that about the cross section.
you dont think from all the movement and vibration, plus the heat the engine generates it will crack the hardline down the road?

if you run the line properly (with a stress relief loop), no it won't crack. we use them for fuel and oil on 8L Lycoming boxer engines on planes all the time.

If you look at the original post, you will see that I have referred to those charts for the initial planning. There is something wrong though, the -10 but arrived do not fit the tubing I bought. I suppose when the tube sleeves arrive everything will clear up.

The nut will be loose because it wraps around the sleeve. That is what provides your compression. You'll be good to go once you get the sleeves.

as mentioned the sleeve tightened up the fit. i have never worked with -10 size and the tolerances really threw me a curved one.
thanks everyone!
