first traction upgrade (poll)
hey guys, i have a turbo gsr and besides the turbo kit and exhaust, its all stock and i have zero traction in first and second gear when I'm on it full throttle...place your vote on the first mod I should buy to make sure the power is put down to the ground
A quaife will just contribute to MORE wheelspin with poor tires. The only way a quaife will make traction better is on slicks. This is for traction issues only, not for conering etc. Paul

Quafe: you'll snap your differential with slicks with out one. At least I did. Maybe the slicks were too big, but what's the point of buying them if your car can't handle them. Besides a Quafe can save your life like the guy above me.
Traction? Traction? What the hell is that? My CRX has traction.......ummm....."issues"
Oh well, it lets me know it's workin'

im noticing a big amount of people are biased to the quaffe.
You should definitly get a quaffe in any fast fwd car but simply adding a quaffe is not gonna help u get traction near as much as having a drag radial w/ a stock diff. you really should have both, and then have traction bars to keep wheel hop away. and good suspension too to keep wieght transfer down and to put the power to the ground. haha but thats alot of money

While my car was running for a period of time, the traction was non exsistent. I can tell you that traction bars, solid motor mounts and a good suspension help some but nothing replaces good tires and a limited slip. I am installing a Quaife lsd into my b16a as we speak, and trying falken azenis tires. Another detail to think about is a larger exhaust housing to put your powerband up higher. With anything over 300whp a .63a/r exhaust is going to leave your tires smoking. The .82a/r housing will give you traction with upwards of 350whp+ with the right tires, suspension, lsd and traction bars.
i am running a kaaz LSD with slicks. our track here sucks so the best 60 foots i get are in the high 1.90's. unfortunately, my original intentions were to have a fast track (roadrace) car. where the hell did i go wrong?
BTW, my slicks are M/T 22x8x15.
burnouts are fun

I have to add this because no one has mentioned it yet...
A good Equal camber setting for both sides of the car.
Your not going to get power to the ground no matter what tires your using unless the camber is around 1-0 degrees.

Very good point, and something i had to learn the hard way. I had my front camber adjusted 3-4 degrees this summer, and got no traction at all. I was dialing in my coilovers with the chamber, and for straight line say goodbye to traction even with good tires. The difference in handling was tremendous though.
