Default first time boosting...need input

hey everyone heres the scoop...built b18a with built p&p LS head..oversize throttle body, valves, fuel rail, all that good stuff...im getting tired of rolling around like a snail with a built for turbo motor... so around christmas im going to go ahead and try to get some sort of turbo set up. im planning on doing the old school afc hack, walhbro fuel pump and dsm 450s since i already have a vafc and im trying to budget. (i plan on neptune in the future) my HP goal is around 350 or so. SO...im wondering if i can meet this goal (probably not because the stock map sensor will be f'kd after 12lbs) and what turbo will get me there. originally i had picked a GT30R but thats probably going to be out of my price range...i highly doubt a t28 will meet my goal...i thought i had it all figured out - but the cash flow has started slowing down. i cant put this off any more i need to set something up ASAP!! thanks for the help!!

ryan

I would skip on the AFC hack. There is free tuning software out there now, I would lose the AFC. You can find a decent turbo for a good price to meet your goals, check the classified section. Why have a built motor, and skimp on the important stuff? Save yourself the headaches, and do it right the first time. Good luck.

nooooo. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE TUNING, THAT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE PUZZLE...unless of course you want to rebuild the motor again. If you cant afford to tune it right, leave it alone until you can. bottom line,..... no ifs, ands, or buts

For Real.

A t28 will not get you to your goal and is too small for a 1.8 liter. I would go with like a 60 trim t3/t4. You can pick these up for a decent priced used in the classifieds but make sure you are getting what is being advertised. With all the ebay turbos out there be aware that crooks try to pawn these off as a better brand turbo.
