Default first start after turbo install

Its been a loooonnnnngggg time coming but i finally finished my turbo install. I started it today for the first time. It started and ran but it wasnt running too well. It was almost like it had a real lumpy cam, and then it choked out. On the positive, NO LEAKS.... By the way, my oil pressure is between 50 and 75 PSI. Not sure about fuel pressure because i was in the car and the fuel pressure gauge is on my filter.

My question is.... Is it not running right because all the settings( fuel pressure, wastegate, etc.) arent right? Is this a common thing?

Im bringing it to my tuner tomorrow. King Motorsports in Newberlin, WI. I just want to make sure everything is right before I bring it. Im not trying to pay $75.00 an hour for labor if its something I can do myself.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

What base map is it on? Good luck with the tune, I hope everything goes smooth.

do you have a map scaled for a 3bar? if not then thats definitely the problem.

if you do have a basemap it probably just needs to get tuned. what engine management are you using?

1. since your issue isnt even remotely related to the OP's question, you should start a new thread. even better research the forums to find your answer. simple answer is the manual boost controller can be used to increase pressure.

2. it sounds like you are describing an Apexi VAFC or something similar. not a good "tuning" device. again i suggest you search around before doing anything with the car. turning up the boost requires a new tune on a proper engine management system. without it you are risking blowing the motor. feel free to PM me with any specific questions.
