why use the longer gears? With the right tires short gears shouldn't be a problem. Good numbers anyways though

Think of it this way. Both cars make 250whp at 5000 rpm. Which car is going to get to there peak power faster? Longer or shorter gears? Shorter gears will accelerate quicker whether all motor or boost, etc. Longer gears are for top speed runs..lol..

you have a point but think about this also, a car with a transmission with close gears will loose traction faster and in more gears than a car with a transmission with long gears. and with good tires i think the car with the tall gears will hook first because the gearing is not as aggressive. and would make a good race because everytime the guy with the short gears shift you going to pull on him every single time.
that's how i see it might sound crazy but thats how i see it.

The h22 gearing isn't very short. I would use the h22 tranny.

i'd say use the h22 tranny or even h23 before a f tranny. you might fall out of vtec wit that f tranny.l
