finished polishing
Well, i undertook the huge project of polishing my turbo. i uised 320 grit, then 400, then 600, then 800, 1000, wet sand 1000, 2000, wet sand 2000. I took my dandy old time going from 320 to 600. Then blew threw 800 to 2000 in about 1 or 2 hours.
then used the Red Rouge supplied in the polish dremel kit. After i did that i used some metal polish that my mom had laying around the house... used that, cleaned everything off in the end, and here's the finish product. There are a few pits/scratches in it, and some parts wouldn't polish for **** but i see that thsoe imperfections give it some character It's my first turbo, first polish job, and im 16... so i think i did pretty damn well
Sorry for the quality, i had to use this old web cam i have had for about 3 years

Re: finished polishing (tegasaurus)
That looks very very nice...next time I take off my turbo im going to polish the housing. When I did my valve cover, I just put it in the sink for the wet sand and stood there and watched tv...

Re: finished polishing (PreIudeSI)
i started mine a looong time ago and got sick of it, just polished the part you can see from the engine bay
now i'm almost finished with the whole thing, but i realized i need a bigger turbo for the new motor somebody will enjoy my hours of effort though

that's pretty much what i did... i anticipated running the compressor on the passenger side with the exhaust flange on a slight angle, like at 115 degrees, so i made sure that section looked reaaaally good

Re: finished polishing (tegasaurus)
I've got a T3/TO4B, not sure on the specs, Art's gonna help me figure that out this week so I can sell it. I thought I had an E compressor but no go so I am prolly gonna get an SC32 from Art.
