The pipe is not made from a sock, and I have never tried using a sock. The pipe was made because it looks great and is extremely light, whether it cools intake temperatures or not, i am not quite sure, but it is a nice piece none the less.

It was not really made to save weight or add performance, strictly bling and to be different...APC actually emailed me about mass producing them

At least there are some ounces of weight to save over aluminum with this product... I just hate products that actually decrease the performance for looks ...
you will sell a bunch .. good luck with APC

If you have charge temps that high your gonna have alot more problems than the pipe melting

if u spend soo much money u wanna get something better than just looks

IMO i would love it to be a non heat soaking material that way u also getting performance and looks

unless u have a show car, i dont see the point unless it performs good also</TD></TR></TABLE>

Like I said, stop worrying about temperatures and heat soak and crap.

It's not an issue with IC pipes.

The pipe is made of a special vynal ester resin which is made for high temperature applications like in engine bays.

the CF probably wont crack ... but I would be worried about the gelcoat/clearcoat cracking if one tightend down a t-bolt clamp to tight ...

You guys are worried way to much about the heat issues. There is no way this thing will melt or mishape. Look at the AIR manifold. There is a lot more heat generated in and around the intake manifold than the charge pipe will ever see. My only worries would be clamping onto it. You really have to put the T-bolts on tight to keep charge pipes from blowing off at 25+ psi. All in all great craftsmanship

The clamping is one of our concerns too...We were thinking of inserting almost like a metal ring on the 2 ends where you would clamp it.
