Default Find me some more power

im currently running a stock b18c1 (healthy compression) w/

SC61
inline pro cast manifold
precision intercooler
2.5 charge pipes
aebs intake mani
650 cc injectors
neptune rtp
3 inch downpipe to exhaust

the car still has a/c and p/s and a recirculated dump tube

on 10psi the car only put out 270-275 whp on a dyno dynamics

i wanted the classic 300+ whp out of this set up but i didnt get it.. any ideas?

You should be able to do that with the current setup, honestly. Time to look at the tuner, and check the type of fuel you're using, in addition to the amount of advanced timing is being performed with the tune.

SC61 is a BIG turbocharger, and has been known to do a lot CFM without much boost over what you're expecting.

I made 309 with less boost and we have about the same setup. I just have an Ebay turbo. But every motor is different. How much experience does you tuner have?

You would make more power without the recirculating dump tube but depends on if your up for that. 2 more psi wouldnt be too much more stress on the engine and would probably make a good amount more power with that turbo.

switching the wastegate dump to the atmosphere would pick up a bit of power.

its a cool 70 out right now and it definitely pulled harder, my engine bay is an inferno when its 90 out, any metal part in the bay can burn you...

The first thing people do is blame the tuner.

This.

OP, how far does your dumptube go down into the downpipe before it terminates? Just curious. Me, I would just take it back to Chris turn up the boost a little on a retune until it reaches 300, or if you're happy with how it feels in cooler weather when your IAT's are down, roll with what you have.

http://www.mnhondas.com/showthread.php?t=9743

B18C1 stock head/block
ITR style intake manifold
68mm TB
FIC 1000cc injectors
Skunk2 rail
Comp Clutch Stage 4
MAPerformance Stage 2 Turbo kit
http://www.maperformance.com/complet...-complete.html

343whp/249tq at 10psi....
so 270whp seems pretty low

Look at my sig. Different dyno will read different numbers. They don't call the dyno dynamic a heart breaker dyno for nothing.

My comment was directed to "speak" with the tuner, not replace him, or place blame. Talk to him about what he performed, and why, learn about his "style" of tuning and if perhaps there were other elements that he may have not been aware of that may affect some parameters of the tune.

I say open dump under oil pan and hit up a dyno jet on 12 psi and you will see much better numbers

because thats usually the problem... that dudes car should easily hit 300whp... **** stock b18b1 motors easily hit 300 on about 15 pounds with alot smaller of a turbo... and not to be dick riding or anything but i wouldnt doubt TheShodan, 99.9% of the time he's dead on accurate.
