Hey guy do it properly from the beginning.
1. Sleve the block - it is great insurance.
2. You need 9.0:1 CR on those pistons - forget lag before high boost, you will loose the race as soon as it begins.
3. Get RCs 720 or even bigger.
4. Get an Aeromotive external pump and filter
5. Get proper tuning - you have a great stand alone.
look for about 475-525 WHP.
6. Have fun safely ie at the track.
7. Try to get 16" wheels the rolling radius helps

Show me your reasoning (Ie. dyno plots) that 8.8:1 compression is going to make a difference in turbo spool time.

As far as I know (and I dont know everything)higher compression helps boost response, I have seen that with my own set up, I actually went from a 8.8:1 to a 10.0:1 and I noticed an improvement in boost response. I do not have dyno plots to back up what I am saying, but if you are going to use dyno plots as the sole "measuring stick" then all other variables like the day's temp etc must be identical. I have felt a noticable difference with my car when I went up with higher compression. Furthermore, I was giving my own opinion, if you noticed the post it started with "IMO" plus thats not the only comment I made regarding the original post, I mentioned the injectors, fuel, sleeving, proper tuning, safety and 16" wheels.

You dont drag race? you do circuit then?

I went with 8.8:1cr for 2 reason... so I can run more boost safer and I it lags alittle but once at 4500rpm+ it just pulls like a bicth and even at 340hp on the street im not spinning tire like crazy 1st-3rd, but i dont race people on the streets, just on the track and on the track im always at high rpm so it works out good </TD></TR></TABLE>

Yea, I don't drag race... just auto-x and road race (circuit)
