finally boosted..intercooler piping bowing off
Get the car started w/ no time to tune ems just used a fmu/check valve and about 12lbs everything seemed great ..soon as i hit about 3-4 shift blow off piping this happened all 3 passes
(when the rubber gets hot its geting flimsy and pops off) ....so can i run a self tapping screw through the gasket into the piping as a quick fix--I just want 1 clean pass this year and dont care bout trashing the piping--will it work

I made this little bracket which is bolted down. Theres a threaded part welded onto the IC piping, and the bracket bolts to the TB
That is a good idea Ron. I haven't seen that before. What about down by the intercooler, I have seen those couplings blow off so many times on different cars. Any ideas for that?
well, i have a backdoor intercooler setup, and that rarely blows off since the bumper is holding it on most of the time. I dont have any pics of the lower portion, but its basicaly bolted down prety solid.
Edit: most of my pipes have tabs welded everywhere. However, this puts some stress on the pipes, because the motor flexs. It rarely blows off this way tho..

I see why the backdoor is a very good idea. I was at the track last week when Terry's pipe blow off twice and the 90 degree coupler thing split too. So after seeing that backdoor looks very appealing to me. What kind to you have? Thanks.

Hope this helps

I did the same thing, but made mine out of aluminum and polished them, it looks nice and i never worry about them blowing apart.
