Default final checklist for the Drag install.....tia for helping..

okay, I am planning on installing the drag kit on my GSR next weekend...
I am just going to run down the list of things that I need some clarification...

1. I receive a 45deg steel elbow with Drag stamp on it, I assume it is going for the intake arm on the compressor side, Correct ?

2. Gaskets gaskets and gaskets....
Do I need it and which ones do I need to get
-manifold to turbine
-manifold to head (replace with the new factory gasket ?)
-wastegate to manifold (art told me not to use the ones supplied by tial, which one should I get ?)
-turbine to downpipe
-Oil pan gasket (replace with new factory gasket ?)
-Any other gasket I didn't mention ?

3. Vaccum lines to wastegate fittings, FMU and all other vaccum fittings, will I need a small clamps or will a zip-ties be sufficient enough ?

4. I was planning to port or smooth out the inside surface of the manifold, BOV fittings in the charge pipe, downpipe and etc....what tip of dremmel did you guys uses ? I have used 2 grinding tips and doesn't seem to work really well...any other ideas ?

5. What's the easiest way to unbolt the Oil pan, specifically the two bolts that are underneath the flywheel cover ? How do I take off the flywheel cover ?

6. After I port the inside of manifold, dp, bov fittings, what's the best way to clean all the metal shavings from it ? use an air compressor (gas station) or will a thorough water rinse be sufficient enough ?

7. Any Drag supplies bolts I need to replace ? I have heard some that manifold or DP bolts need to be replaced with a stronger grade..which ones ?

I appreciate all the responses more or less...

are gaskets necessary for the turbo to manifold and turbo to wastegate?
Fmax's does not include one and says to use permatex copper to form a good seal.

Thanks Vireen...

I am more worried of the vaccum lines especially on running them and etc...
I can pretty much getaway with the major hardware parts, is the vaccum lines is what I am really worried about and all the unexpected little obstacles such as imperfect fit and etc.

Art and chris is going to help me out...btw where about do you live ?

thanks again

The kit should come w/ all the clamps and hoses you need, I would never use a zip tie to hold on a hose. The flywheel cover is real easy to get off. Its just a couple of nuts and 1 bolt if memory serves me correctly. Once you got all the nuts and screws out you gotta wiggle the cover off then you have access to all the bolts and nuts for the oil pan. Thing that confused me was that on the oil pan there are some nuts and the other bolts. You'd think they'd stay consistent, go figure. I haven't heard about replacing the bolts but you definately should replace the oil return line. Cost me about 65 bucks for everything.

whats wrong with using zip ties to hold hoses. the hose from the BOV and the WASTEGATE usually can be tied with a zip tie as well as the fpr and fmu hoses.

while we're on the subject....shouldn't I receive some plastic T fittings ?
I mean how can I connect the vacuum lines without it ?
also I only receive about three feet of silicone hose for the vacuum lines, is that going to be enough ?
and I alos receives two raidator like hoses, one is about 6" and 3/8" in diameter and the other ones is about 2.5" and about 1/2" in dia. I assume these are for oil return lines..

TIA

My kit didn't come with the bolts to bolt down the downpipe or the bolts that connect your test pipe to the cat back system. Make sure you have yours, they're supposed to come with the kit.

that is correct oil return lines and the silcone vacuum hose is plenty unless you tap of different places. You can just go local parts store and get vacuum line if need be.
