Default to filter or not to filter that is the question....

ok, well i have a turbo'd 92 accord with a jdm h22a... no room whatsoever in the engine bay at all after running the charge pipes and everything.. however i did make a flange to run on the turbo so that i could get some panty hose clamped on there for atleast some protection... now i know a guy that is not runnning a filter at all and has been doing so for like 20k miles and its running and doing fine... that scares me a lil... i just need to know how many layers of pantyhose to use/use it with some screen door stuff...i would love to run a filter but god damn.. theres no room... thanks guys...

if its a daily driver i say for sure run a filter, please run a filter, all it takes is one little rock to get sucked up and the turbo is done!
but if its more of the nice weather driver/show car/no highway driving; a mesh type filter should do fine. but either way some form of filtration should be used in all situations

Well i've been driving around for a good 5 months now on a screen, and as far as i can see, i dont think anything got messed up because of no filter. but im going to shave my block soon and fitted a filter somewhere higher in the engine bay so there no chance of me sucking up water. i have no splash guard under the engine bay
