Re: ls or gsr? turbocharge (brad17)
well, im no veteren here by any means, but i think i can help. the first thing i would do is search. when i first got here i searched for about 3 weeks before i posted anything. to this day, i still search for at least half an hour before i ask a question.
now on to your question. it all depends on what you want from the engine. if you plan to run 25-30 psi, your going to need to build the engines internals. pistons, rods, sleeves, etc. as far as which engine to turbo...its up to you. when all is said and done, they will both be built and make tremendous power. the ls will make a little more torque (in theory...longer stroke), and the gsr will have more top end pull (again in theory...VTEC). personally, i plan to get an ls shortblock...build it for boost and get a b16 head. in my mind, it is the best comprimise. good luck with the build, and don't forget to search!
edit: as far as a turbo kit goes, i would peice it together.

SEARCH, this is convered every day. You can look up the critical stuff, i will answer very basically.
1) both ls or gsr will work
2) build up cost about 3 grand
3) don't get a drag kit if you plan on running big numbers and stuff, customise your own kit.
4) tunning depends on the shop, find a local reputable tuner and ask.

Re: (blackeg)
yeah and skip the drag kit if your looking to make high hp numbers, peice one together or buy a peakboost or fullrace kit. sc-61 makes tremendous power at 20psi+
