fields sfc-vtec vs apex'i v-afc or s-afc for fuel control on jrsc lude
opinions about one vs. the other, or the wisdom of either?
my lude dumps a lot of fuel up top, and i think there are some significant
gains to be had by tuning the fuel curve. the prelude kit comes with the
JR MAP converter and BTC - any conflicts i should look out for?
from an aesthetic point of view, i far prefer the fields unit (the last thing
i want in my car is some shiny nonstandard piece of electronics to find
a home for), but the apex'i seems to have more features.
i assume that even though the apex'i can read boost (if the map sensor
hasn't been tricked, as i believe it has in a jrsc application) i will still want
a good rising rate fpr.
thanks in advance.

Re: fields sfc-vtec vs apex'i v-afc or s-afc for fuel control on jrsc lude (schwett)
I have a 94 GSR with the JRSC. I have had a "rich" problem at the top end as well. The JR fuel pressure riser it too twitchy to adjust. I've added a Holley fuel pressure regulator to it and it has made a big difference. My engine would bog a little with too much fuel at 2000 rpms and up. The Holley regulator enabled me to gain 10 more hp. I just had the Apexi V-AFC installed last week but have not made any adjustments on it as of yet. The one major down side that I have heard about the Apexi V-AFC and I do not know if it is true with other types is that when for any reason you disconnect the battery, you will lose your settings. Perhaps not a big deal if you remember everything you have it set at.

The V-AFC does not lose its memory when the battery is disconnected.
