I saw that car run a high 13 at moroso motorsports park.. Not impressive at all. I also always doubted the claimed hp output. I remember in SCC he claimed 900 @ 45psi with a KKK Turbo.. Now I hear 1200hp with less then 30lbs of boost. I find that very hard to believe. Also on the track it doesn't look like he's anywhere near 500hp, let alone 700-1200+hp.
119mph even with no traction, is not the mph of a 900hp car. My friends 320whp FWD hatch runs 119mph. That thing should trap a buck 50' plus easy!!! And if he couldn't grip on the track, then how did he grip in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear in those videos??
I have some great videos of this car though..high quality burnout, and track vides, I even have a vid of this car street racing in sweden!!

- VW Golf RS1 -
Max. effekt motor 527.6 kW @ 5.780 r/min
Max. effekt drivhjul 432.2 kW @ 5.780 r/min
Max. vridmoment 928.6 Nm @ 5.250 r/min
Frankly, I tried finding out what this meant using online translators but no luck
"Omöjligt att få fäste över 5800 r/min under mätningen.
Maximal effekt ligger mellan 7800-8200 r/min"
For those who are too lazy to convert: 527.6 kW = 707.52 wHP
It´s swedish and means:
"it´s no posibel way to get traction over 5800rpm during mesurment"
It revs upp to 10500 rpm but i don´t now how far up it makes power..
Also it´s metric HP.. its a littel bit less than your HP that is based on foot and pounds but not much of a diffrense..

I like the exhaust....fire=cool
I read the article several years back, it's a very impressive project.
I don't understand the track numbers though, unless he ran the 1/4 on half throttle...

That VW looks like it spends most of its time on fire, until it starts to accelerate again. Im' surprised th thing hasn't caught on fire, or melted those nice rear 3/4 panels....
Seems to go pretty good on a road course...

Dahlback is riding the Group B Audi S1's coat tails, and that's OK with me.
Those Audi 5 cylinders are the meanest sounding motors I've ever heard.
I'll bet some of the power numbers floating around are because that seems like a more homogenized version of one of the baddest motors ever put in a race car. And for people wondering about all the fire, one of the S1's nicknames was "fire breathing dragon"...
Ah, the Killer B's... Coolest race cars ever...

Looks like he needs a Dynopack.

I remember seeing those a while back. One of my Krautwagon (
) friends told me about them.
This one was my favorite one. Pretty impressive display of horsepower if you ask me.

i doubt your friends hatch weighs anywhere near as much as the dahlback car. also you dont know if he made that pass at lower boost setting. about the traction problems, the car has a really long first and second, then 3rd and up are extremely short, thats why traction is a problem in the higher gears.
oh and i'm sure since you saw it run at moroso, you also saw it almost come to a dead stop at more than half way down the track, then rip all four tires loose again... thats why it ran a 13. and it still had a REALLY high trap considering it stopped like that.
