Buy them. Hope they work for you. I wouldnt. JUST based on what IVe seen myself, let alone others... ANYTHING can fail, but Ive heard/seen more evidence of ST valves failing catastophically than any other... I know personally 4 sets of friends that have had them break/stretch and not 1 set of Ferreas.

Thats enough for me right htere

I have an d16, at 2010 i dropped stock valve. In 2011 i dropped another stock valve with an freshly rebuilt engine (just 3week of usage was in it). in the same year i rebuild the whole engine with supertech valve train (valves, guides, seals, springs, retainers), after two months of usage i dropped an valve again at stock 7200rpm rev limit!

in this year the engine was rebuild again, supertech guides, springs, retainers, seals with bisi lvl3.6 cam but now with ferrea comp plus valves, this is the 7th month of usage with over 18.000 miles in it, rev limit at 8.800rpm and no any issues, yet!

im so much happy with the ferrea valves, and i vote for them.

i think theres no much bigger heartbrake than a dropped valve, you need to rebuild the whole engine (all the time has been fault these components: pistons, rods, cranck shaft, block, head, valves, and one time cracked valve spring, and of course the turbo either...)

yea you can just make sure you get some good valve locks

dont buy supertech valve locks they are just like stock get some manley valve locks are ferra ones

a valve is only as good as the person putting the head together alot of things come into play when a valve drops besides the valve lock pulling therw the retainer

If I were to buy the Ferrea Comp plus valves what else would I need with them? just the keepers?

ive datalogged 9200 rpm at the valley before with supertech hd100 springs/retainers with stock valves/keepers. no probs but that was only at 500hp

the good combo for you seems to be your supertech springs/retainers since you already have them and the ferrea valves. supertech valves have a bad bad rep and its not contrived either:tons of pics and stories to back it up.

I'm running Supertech 5000 series springs/retainers with stock keepers in my built B18c. I take the motor to 9000-9500rpm frequently. No issues or abnormal wear at all.

Both companies make good products. Failing parts is mostly due to mass production/inequality of materials and differences in manufacturing process, along with some fault in incorrect install/damage upon install. No way around it. It is what it is. Some sets work, some don't. Go with a set, set your valve-lash and keep your fingers crossed. Not much else you can do.

if you use the ferrea comp plus valves use the ferrea keepers they are beefy and longer so they are easier to install they are 70

I ended up buying the Ferrea 6000 intake valves & the comp plus exhaust with the Ferrea keepers. I'm keeping the supertech springs & retainers

Those are the valves that I have, but I thought somewhere I read that the ferrea locks are designed to work with the ferrea retainers because of the angle they are machined to.

These are the parts I used in my head in case you were interested in other options.

Ferrea bronze valve guides- (VG1000/VG1002)
Ferrea valve spring seat locators (SL1000)
Ferrea valves- (Intake: F6048/Exhaust: F1449P)
Ferrea valve seals- (VS1002/VS1003)
Ferrea valve springs and retainers (S10104/E11000)
Ferrea valve locks- (K10034)

Btw- I accidentally revved he engine to 11k with no issues

I have heard this too but Brad over at RLZ said nothing about this. Hopefully he would of told me no if thats the case. I have read some other build threads of people running the Ferrea valves with the ferrea keepers with supertech S&R's
