Default Feedback or thoughts on Crower valvetrain in a boosted application?

Whats up guys,

I got a great deal on a 2000 Si B16 head (200 bucks!!) that already has Crower valvetrain and I'd like to know your thoughts/feedback on these springs and retainers. The retainers are the chromoly ones part #87091S. Not sure what the part # for the springs but its their b series vtec valvesprings. Head has never been run since the install of the valvetrain. Anyone have any experience with this valvetrain in a high HP boosted set up? I'll prob be in the mid 600's as Im going to be runnig an S362. I bought a Benson sleeved block from the seller so as a package he gave me a price that was too hard to pass up on the B16 head.

I see that most people run Supertech, Ferrea or Skunk2 valvetrain and I dont see many running the Crower. I have searched and haven't seen any horror stories about the Crower so was planning on using it. Anyone have any good or bad feedback on it? Would you run it? Have you heard bad or good things about it? How do these chromoly retainers compare to titanium? Will they handle the revs?? I may only be going with mild S2 tuner 1 or ITR/GSR cams.

Since Im spending a nice chunk of change on my set up I just want to be sure this valvetrain is not the weak link that could ruin a motor. Since I got a great deal on the head to begin with,if I have to get a better valvetrain to be on the safe side then so be it. I just want to do this right the FIRST time.

Opinions, feedback, advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jaysem

I had a full valve train along with cams installed in my B16 head running a B20 block. saw 300whp and 305 tq on 8 psi, need to up the boost to 15 for the big cam to run right according to the tuner so we shall see once we double the boost.

I think so too. Im probably just being paranoid because of the money that is going in to this build. Last thing I want is for thousands of dollars to go down the drain because I didnt spend 300 bucks on a better valvetrain.
