Yo DaX, why don't you just sent the mani to Jet-Hot or some header coating place and get it ceramic coated to reduce heat??

Those wraps are not cheap ya know and the ones from Jet-Hot has a lifetime warrenty on new products being coated.

As for the A/C thing, well I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a cool breeze in my CRX except in the winter of cause.

It was Turbo or A/C for me and guess which I choose......

The wrap is for the upper radiator hose. Without any modification, the upper radiator hose would lay directly on the manifold. I may get my manifold coated later on down the road, but I want it in my car so bad now.

Here is a picture of a sidewinder installed [EDIT: THIS IS NOT MY CAR] so you'll know what I'm talking about. Look at the upper radiator hose, mine will be exactly like that but also wrapped:

The wrap is only $12 for a 12 ft length...pretty cheap in my book.

I live in GA...AC is a must. This is why I went with the sidewinder.

Also, where do you plan to relocate your radiator overflow tank?</TD></TR></TABLE>

I have already relocated my radiator overflow tank. Here are some pictures:

I use 1/4" ID fuel hose to go from the radiator to the overflow tank. Right now I have it routed directly, but I am going to re-route it around the side of my engine bay so it doesn't have to cross the manifold. I had to cut the fat tip off the neck on the reservoir to get the fuel hose on. It still took some encouragement. I am using hose clamps on both ends to hold it secure. For mounting of the tank, I used the stock mounting bracket and using only the top bolt to secure it [the hole in the bottom of the bracket has nowhere to mount, but with the top bolt in it's very sturdy...doesn't vibrate against the frame], mounted it where you can see where one of the brackets for the wiring harness used to be.

I'll be sure to keep you posted...just look out for the writeup...I'll make a new thread for it.

I thought you were going to wrap the entire manifold and stuff that's why I said it's expensive.

No, it should not when using metal hose clamps.

IF you're talking about on that particular setup, I don't know...it isn't my car. I'm using worm drive hose clamps.

I doubt it has the heat rejecting capabilities that the DEI stuff or the McMaster stuff has.

I was looking at the DEI cool tape, its aluminum bonded with woven fiberglass. Not sure if it makes that much of a difference compared to the home depot stuff that looks very similar. But then again, most peeps here have spent enough that a few extra bucks for the DEI stuff isn't too bad...
