So i thought id got a good deal, since purchasing it i've been told it's possibly fake!

It came brand new in a Holset box with a instruction manual etc but when trying to find out info from their website it doesn't reconise the serial.

Would this size of turbo be any good for a b16 anyway? Wondered if it would be laggy as hell anyways.

Any info would be great, if it's no good for a b16 then it's getting chucked.

Forgot to mention, it doesn't mention 'china; anywhere and the compressor wheel bolts match the genuine Holset versions. I watched a video on the Holset website on how to determine a fake Holset hence why i'm confused!

So is it fake? and would this be any good on a B16!

 

Can't tell with only those pics. But if you bought it off ebay or craigslist and the serial numbers aren't recognized by holset, chances are its fake.

 

holset's search is wack sometimes... it looks real to me.

 

Holset doesn't use a 4 bolt discharge flange.
All of my Holsets came in a Cummins box

Mine also have HOLSET written on the CHRA

 

also, if you bought it on eBay, just file a "item not as described" dispute.

whats the model number and whats the cm# on the turbine housing? is that a t-3 or t-4
and if its a 12cm or 14cm you will have fast spool a 16cm or bigger will put you somewhere around 55-6500rpm but if you check the holset thread you will get a better idea of what you looking know but call holset and talk to direct about if its a fake or not.
