Default f22b with td04hl-16t

I'm piecing together a turbo kit for a f22b, I was wondering if a Td04hl-16t off of a Volvo was suitable? Planning on 10psi nothing more.

that's going to be a little small for the amount of air flow going through a F22...

It won't matter. Only a dyno will tell you exactly when it'll drop off. But that's not even the point. The turbo just won't convert a lot of airflow.

Fair enough, so what's a good turbo for the f22b that i can get at a junkyard? Off of a saab or volvo. Nobody say EVO or dsm because i have yet to see just 1 at my local wreckers.

the best you could do is a Saab Turbo .48 T04b (if you're lucky and sacrificed a lamb to the car gods). And you can forget the T3 versions used on Ford Turbo coupes, 92 Probes, Starquests, turbo dodges, or most Volvos. The problem with Junkyard turbos that are there are in several crucial areas:

1) most have had coking oil and require a rebuild before they can even be used

2) Because of the fact that they were OEM applications, even those that had some aftermarket rebuild support cost more to repair than to simply replace that OEM application. (Which BTW, have specific flanges that would more than likely have to make before they can be integrated into any exhaust manifold.

3) by the time you find an aftermarket OEM application that has survived criteria 1) & 2), the money could have been used to get a UNIVERSAL application that will work with either a pre-fabricated exhaust manifold system, or will make it more productive to make your own "hot parts" to make it work.

All of this would apply even if you found a Subaru or DSM (not Evolution) turbo. Those were picked clean, and even then are probably in a recycle bin somewhere.

OEM turbos from Junkyards from the last 10 years are literally beaten until their last breath. So, regardless of budget, I'd not go with this approach. This is why you're not getting much feedback in this arena.

best bet for junkyard would be a diesel turbo.. something off a cummins or older chevy diesel.. Shodan pretty much covered it.
