Who's running forged pistons and rods in their F22's?

Let us know what your running and where you purchased them from, prices etc.

Cheers.

Thanks for your input I had already heard of those guys but thanks anyway. So what set up are you running?

any h23 rod will work for the f22, and the f22 also has the same compression height as the h23 but the bore is 2mm smaller. there arn't alot of shelf pistons for the f22. alot of times you can get them custom ordered, but you can check th ebig suppliers , JE CP weisco, etc. some stock them as shelf.. i can't remember off the top of my head.

i'm sorry man its just you know some people on here you help out and they slam you after you have helped out, i should have realized it was a typo, my bad. I am running the above mentioned and the whole DSM setup 16g mani and injectors. I just finised a rebuild on the engine and am in the process of breaking it in. In about a week i am going to go get it tuned using ECtune. What are your goals with your engine?

I was gonna run my set up on standard internals but during tuning the car was making around 240 lbs tq at around 4000rpm then it all came to a sudden halt and we are just in the process of taking off the head to see what's happened.

The car still runs but there is compression in the sump.

So if theres any piston damage we may aswell go for forged pistons and rods as they gonna have to be changed.

I'll be happy with a solid 250 - 300bhp reliable daily driver.

What goals are you aiming for?

Does anyone know if all the F22's share the same pistons? As mine is an F22Z2 which I don't think you got in the US.

I'm pretty sure the pistons are all the same.

i got the same goals. my car is my daily driver so i need it to be more reliable then fast for now. I would be real pleased with 250 to 300. i think they are all the same but if u know the specs of your rods and pistons there is a page in the prelude forum under the FAQ thread that has all the specs of every rod and piston for the american f and h series.

IIRC, the cheapest way to go is to either choose h23 forged pistons like prelittle said, and go custom pistons. Otherwise you can go raceeng.com expensive forged f22 rods (carillo, crower) and pistons.. Either way, it ends up not being too cheap for the parts.

Somehow, I remember people using b18/b20 forged internals as the cheapest route... but I can't remember if it was just the rods or the pistons or both...

I am in the process of deciding on this as well. Hope somebody will chime in.

Are you planning to sleeve?, I would asume not because of the stock sleeves are pretty strong so...

Well you could go with some h23 rods and custom pistons, which gives you a variety of choices for manufacturers and prices.

You could also go with h22 rods and custom pistons, if you do that you need to make sure the piston manufacturer moves the wrist pin to compensate for the slightly longer rods length the h22 rods have.

i would say just give raceeng.com a call and go from there. All of these custom setups are going to cost as much as then setup from raceeng.com. i am not knocking anyone elses idea. I just looked all of these things up and raceeng.comis pretty cheap for what you get and they are really fast in shipping i had all my stuff withing two days. they have everything for the f22 in stock and theres no work on trying to move the wrist pin or measure out each rod cause they have everything ready for the f22. this is just one of those areas where your not oging to be able to save a ton of money or any at all for that matter.
