A/F Gauge Choices
Ok, i've been shoping around for some gauges for my upcoming turbo setup, i was looking for a A/F gauge and theirs SO many to choose from. If i use my stock sensor or better yet, weld in a bung to a different Heated O2 sensor, will it be ok to see a close to correct A/F ratio for driving around town? I dont want to spend the $$$ on a WB O2 meter to drive around town with. Well anyway, i was looking at for a full sweep non LED gauge, like one with a needle thats not a expensive DEFI or GREDDY unit. Or should i just get a LED one... well i dont know, pls vote and give feedback

A/F gauges in general are just light shows. If you want something that will actually give you the info you need, WBO2 and a EGT would be good things to have.

wideband or EGT guage.
The autometer really is just a light show, it's worthless to tune by. You can tell when your car goes into closed loop mode, and that's about it.

Re: A/F Gauge Choices (fcdrifter)
oh well i guess i'll start saving my money then
edit: the point of this thred is that.. Is it ok to use a "light show" for daly driving to tell me if i'm running lean at all
PS the gauge will be on a seprate O2 sensor

Not hating but seriously, you're not going to be able to tune very well with a car on 20lbs.+ (which we do a lot)... If you tuned two identical motors one with a wideband and one with a Autometer/Halmeter especially at higher boost levels which one do you think will make more power... If we're tuning on the dyno we're using the dyno's wideband, in some of our cars with standalones (i.e. F.A.S.T., etc. the wideband output is only displayed on the laptop when we are datalogging or monitoring... Brian's car is tuned at ~12.2:1, but on his Halmeter it reads as rich as it'll go, just saying that they aren't super accurate... Just my $0.02, again
