External and Internal Wastegates on same Turbo setup????
Dont flame me on this one...
I will be getting a free rebuilt Garrett Turbo with no miles on it(from bro with dead Starion),
and it has an integral Wastegate.. which, I have been under the assumption that it is better to run an External wastegate.
Anyhow, I am thinking about piecing my Turbo setup together using this Garrett Turbo..(sorry, dont have the specs, but its from an 88 Mitsubishi Starion)..
I was thinking about getting a manifold with a wastegate flange for a Tial.. and using it with the turbo.
Would I need to just set the integral wastegate to full and then set the Tial to regulate boost?
Or am I a retard that knows nothing about this?... which is closer to the truth..
thanks for any help..

why dont keed the internal wastegate ? an external wastegate is for high hp application... I have 260 hp on my D16z6 and I run an internal one ... so it is your choice to spend money on that...

ahhh.. ok.. Well then, i'm not going to use an external. Thanks for the clear up yellowturbo.
If I decide to do this, I'm only looking between 5-7psi..very conservative.
Btw, what is your setup?
Thanks for the help!
