Expired Nitrous Bottle: Testing
Aside for sending my expired bottle for hydrostatic testing are there any visual tests that the bottle must pass. It's not that my bottle is dented but where my brackets held the bottle they caused abrasions in the paint/coating so i can see the aluminum underneath...The bottle was also left loose in the brackets once or twice and hav some deep scratches other places...if pics would help i can post them but basically how deep is too deep concerning scratches or is that not even a factor...let me kno guys

Well i'm not exactly sure if this information pertains to nitrous bottles. But i used to work for a paintball field, and co2 and compressed air bottles would have to checked every 5 or 8 years depending on bottle type. Anyways, as long as the scratches aren't deep enough to decrease the longevity by structurally weakening it, it should be fine.
Honestly, they shouldn't care if the bottle looks ugly. Just as long as its gonna be able to hold the nitrous properly without question.
Also most scratches on the outside of the bottle aren't deep enough to even present a problem.
Hope that helps.

You should be fine.
In all of my experience i have seen some pretty iffy scratches and dents get passed and those were on compressed air tanks...where the air is held at 4500 - 5000 psi. Which is stupid if you think about it, if some reason the valve was to break off from the bottle it would be a frickin rocket.
Anyways, best of luck to you.
