Default Expansion Slots???

Hey, I am in the process of putting my freshly machined manifold back onto my teg (it was way warped). The machinest removed lots of material. Now I am afraid of having it Warp again, more so because there is less material.

So my question is how many of you guys cut expainsion slots in your manifold? And what do you use to do it, Sawzall, Hack saw?

I am kinda afraid that the manifold will go all screwed up if I cut slots in it.

Lets hear your opinions...

Expansion slots? Where are you going to be cutting into the manifold? At the flange? Not in the runners or plenum I hope?

yes, cut slots....be prepared for the individual runners to "shift" though.

expansion slots are cut in the flange of the exhaust manifold to prevent warpage by allowing the manifold to expand and contract depending on the temp of each runner.

It sounds like a good Idea. I just don't want to not be able to bolt my manifold up after I cut slits in it...
