Exospeed Sleeves?
Anyone have any experience with Exospeed made sleeves? I found threads about the company's customer service issues, but nothing about the quality of the parts. I was thinking about buying a set off a guy locally, not directly from Exospeed. They're probably not nearly as good of quality as Darton but I was going to use them in a budget build. They worth it or are they just trouble?

As far as the sleeves are concerned I think there are only 2 sleeve manufacturers for honda bore out there, Darton and LA. I'm not sure what exo uses. Regardless though, I have also heard about poor customer service problems in the past. Maybe the've changed but good luck whatever you decide to do.

Like I said I wont be dealing with the company directly, I saw what they look like and they're definately not Darton, I'm not sure what the LAs look like, but these are very plain, just cylinders. As long as they're installed properly maybe it wont matter?
Buying the actual sleeves are cheap, Dartons are like $40 a piece if im not mistaken..... why cut corners?
EDIT: must of goofed that one up, I remember seeing them somewhere for like $200 shipped, must of been knockoff's

You are comparing apples to oranges with the LA and Darton. The LA ones are essentially pressed in with the original sleeves still there, just bored to the proper size, and a counter bore to help the sleeve from sinking. The Darton MID's involve a tad bit more machine work then that. Talk to Sean at ERL, they now have there newer "open deck" design. It is bad ***. The LA sleeves are retailing for somewhere about $60 each I believe, and the Darton MID retails for about $520 for the set.
That is for the sleeves, honestly the most important thing with the sleeves is the correct machine work. That is where you want to find the right person/shop to do the work. I can only speak of ERL (becasue that is who did mine), but I have had customers that have dealt with Earl (Bensons) and have been very pleased.
Good luck,
Jason

No experience with the engine building services they offer, but Will went out of his way to get my Lenso VPD/M&H package to me quickly and was constantly giving me updates.
