Default Exhaust Housing

What is the advantages/disadvantages of a divided exhaust housing over a undivided one? I'm looking at getting a new exhaust housing for my car and not sure if there is a difference or not. I have a divided manifold.

if you have a divided manifold, then get the divided housing.

the manifold is also called a pulse type because it directs the pulses from each bank of cylinders into seperate sections of the exh. housing.

it offers quicker spool up times
