eveyone seems to prefer b18b
b20b is the poo poo you can make some nice torque figures and hp but the rev ragne is week. excellent for street car. I will stick to my GSR bored out.
I bought by b18b simply because they are more abundant and cheaper.......i tried getting a b20 but only a few places had them and if they did have them they were expensive......from my experience the same price for a b20 i could get an LS sleeved and bored out to 84mm.....maybe in other places you can get them cheaper...and then there is always people that come across really good deals....but not me
yeah it kinda sucks b20b/z usually go for 1000 most places. and b18b you canget for like 100 bucks + 700 bucks to get it sleeves and 800 you got your self same motor

what cars can you do a straight-up swap with? I.E. i have a 1999 civic si. Could i just drop in a new engine and use my existing tranny if i wanted to do so? I guess if i ever blow my engine i could get a b18b block instead of paying to fix my b16 block, right?

is the b18b a 1.8 and the b20 a 2.0? if they are, wouldnt the b20 have the advantage? and yea, where do you guys get your b18b engines from? ive never seen one for like 300 or 400 bucks.

yeah b18 is 1.8, b20 is 2.0. b20 is essentially a b18 bored out to 84mm so, logically if you buy a b18, resleeve it and bore it to 84mm, you have two litre (or actually just under)
No you can't bore out a b20 to 2.2 because you would have no cylinder sleeve left. Cool thing is though, that the two engines are basically the same on the outside so you can switch between the two (say if you blow one up) without changing manifolds or anything else.
