Evans Tunning!! Dump tube modification question
A while ago i was reading a post were Evans tunning was explaining on how to modify the dumptube to obtain more HP. this was due to the fact that exhaust gasses where not sucked in by the turbo again so he suggested exiting the dumptube after the oil pan, pointing to the rear of the car..
Wel my dumptube was pointing down to the floor and was right in fron of my radiator.. I went Saturday to a muffler shop and they extended the dumptube and now it vents how its supposed to.. Well the butt dyno liked it and it feels like it gave the car a bump in power...hard to tell for sure cause i havent hit the dyno to verify the results..
The thing is.. The sound now is different..It seems something got louder..I guess its the WG but it sound now like an EVO WG opening..Why is this? Is there anything wrong? How would this mod affect the motor and how it reacts? The sound is difficult to explain but its kinda like a ratllesnake shaking its tail ish sound..
absolutelly nothing was touched in the car other than the dumptube mod..it wasnt doing it before.

It's probably just the wastegate opening and closing as it tries t hold boost. Did you have the shop make it point down or straight back?

The sound you hear is most likely the sound waves reverberating under the car. Wastegates get significantly louder when we route the dumptubes under the oil pan.
