Default Evaluate my AFR's please

I had my car tuned the other day by a pro, Hondata S300. He was supposed to do a full street tune but said he was unable because the brakes fade. I have to change the master cylinder. Anyways he set the boost cut to 3psi and rev limit to 4800 rpm.

Now i called him today and asked if i can raise the boost cut and just watch the AFR's. He said yes go 1psi at a time and watch the afr's dont go above 12. He also said he has added fuel all the way to 18 psi.

Tonight i went out and played around a bit, went to 7psi max and 4800 (same) rev limit. Now I cant do any WOT runs, because the boost builds quick and once i hit 7psi boost cut occurs and thats not fun. So all my pulls are like 80% throttle max.

At 7psi i would see as high as 12.6 AFR, 80% throttle, 4000 RPM. Should I be concerned with this? Or is this pretty safe. All other times even part throttle AFR is around 11.4-11.9.

Thanks for your help

Rebuilt master cylinder + install = $150 + 4 hours

Rebuilt motor + install = $750 + 18 hours (if done yourself, rushing)

Did you fail more than college algebra? Maybe 3rd grade math??

master cyl is on the way, the brakes arent terrible, they work well, the pedal just slowly sinks to the floor every now and than.

The tuner said i can drive it and that if i watch the AFR i can up the boost cut, so i thought it would be ok to go to 7 psi. I mean at 3psi i can barely accelerate in case of emergency without hittin boost cut. Im not going past 7 psi or 4800 rpm. I just need to know if the afr i posted is not dangerous.

partial throttle, doesnt that mean anythin but full throttle?

i have to feather it i cant do full throttle i hit the boost cut. Im listening to my tuner and doing as he told me, he said he has added fuel to 18 psi, and he said yes go ahead turn it up 1 psi at a time, and watch the afr doesnt go up above 12. But he didnt say if above at at WOT or above 12 period.

and it only goes up to 12.4 just before i hit boost cut/let off throttle.

just f-ucking wait until your ready to go back and tune, jesus
ie change your master cylinder, and why isn't this being done on a dyno, if he's a PRO?

Without know what your tuner has done with the timing, I wouldn't [freak] with it. Technically 7-8psi with just two-step colder plugs and no timing adjustments to the ECU is safe and 11.5-12 PSI under WOT and full boost.

Are you on a built or stock gut?

You mean with the same timing as the last load part of the n/a map for 7-8lbs at 11.5-12 a/f?
Technically safe, according to who? If you try this, better hope you have a j&s safeguard on the car..I would not consider that to be safe at all.

I find this funny. It's like you're calling the guy to say "hey, is it cool if I second guess your decision to limit my unfinished car, and turn it up anyway?"

11.8:1 or so under boost is good, but most of your part throttle should be around 14.7, and who knows what is up with your timing. Fix the ride, let the dude finish his job!

ok if your using s300 with a little bit of reading, tuning is very easy. if you have your wideband hooked up to the s300 set a lean cut of 12.8ish boost cut to 1 psi over wastegate pressure and a lower ignition timing. do a few passes and datalog them, set your rev limit to what stock rev lmit is on you motor and go hard i tuned my b16 to 10psi on the street and now my b18 to 10 psi with safe af ratios 11.8 and lower. i started tuning blind not a clue what i was doing, read some forums, talked to some people it really isn't hard and s300 is very newb friendly. now in all this its up to how confident you are but im tellin you it isnt hard. and i havn't blown up a motor yet. then when you get the cash dyno tune to extract the most power out of your bitch and you'll be flying. some people might argue with me but i say go hard man

Dyno tune is scheduled down the road.

Built head and built block (not sleeved). From what ive been reading my afr's are good. By part throttle i meant not full throttle, like i have to feather it maybe 80% throttle. Anyways im gonna leave it at 7psi and 4800 rpm. Gettin new master cylinder tommorow and new pads, i dont wanna [freak] with the tune ill let the guy finish the job and than learn from reading the map. Thanks for your help guys.
