Engine turbo dillema... please help
I have a dilema... My EM1 B16A2 has 145500 miles and i want to go turbo but the question is, what would i have to do to not blow the motor in 5k miles? Would it be a bad thing to boost that motor with that many miles on it? Another route was to get a GSR Longblock and put my tranny on it but then i wont be able to afford my turbo setup. I need some technical help. Thanks in advance.

compression test, leakdown test, make sure the motor is running in tip top shape.
replace any or all gaskets that leak or are old.
replace headgasket with new one if its not been replaced in a while.
EMS & Fuel management are key along with tune, those things will keep your motor from blowing!
then turbo it
also the compression of b16 & gsr motors are going to limit you in the ammount of boost (psi) you are going to be able to run, with a good tune and good ems and fuel management you will be able to push 10psi safely

just make sure you do all the maintence you need to with the car.
plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, oil change, oil filter ect, the basic tune up for starters
then work on the gaskets oil pan gasket, head gasket
ect
you might not need to do all of it, however i dont know how you maintain your car.
