Engine Tuning: eManage or eManage Ultimate
Im planning on getting an eManage, but i dont know what the real difference is between the eManage and the eManage ultimate. Can someone tell me the difference between these two? Im gonna be boosting very soon, but I find that Hondata is way to expensive for my budget. Any insight would be great. Thanks guys.

Emanage wont be any cheaper once you get all the options you need.
the EMU has more fuel and timing control without needing to alter map signal and clamping the signal making timing changes, controls rev limiter, has 2 step, map tracing and auto tune and some other crap. I have the EMU on my Supra

Neither.
For the price of an OBD-I conversion harness and a converted P06, you could run Uberdata or Crome.
If you're already OBD-I, it's a no-brainer.

I agree....
Just go with crome/neptune/hondata/uberdata or something...
there are just to many options that are cheaper/easier than going with emanage.
This is all assuming you have access to a tuner that can tune these. If your guy only works with emanage or something then i guess that decision is kinda made for you.

how much does uberdata or crome cost though? i never really see too many people running them and i always figured it was due to cost issues.
u can only have two pieces to the triangle... 1. fast, 2. cheap, 3. reliable

I have a 00 Si so I have OBDIIb and I honestly dont have money to do a OBDI conversion. But bluntely, is the eManage a cheap alternative for Hondata, etc.?

Hondata isn't as expensive as you think it is. Start looking around for a s200b unit and you might be surprised. emanage definitely isn't just a cheap version of hondata... the cheap version of Hondata is Uberdata because its Uber free...

Dude, OBD2B to OBD1 conversion harness is like 75 bucks. Add a chipped P28 for $140 and there's your engine management.

again Emanage is not cheaper then Hondata.
My Emanage Ultimate was close to $800 with everything.
So dont plan on it being the cheap route.
Go Hondata or Neptune or chrome or something.

Re: (PM-Performance)
unless your need are high end power ( drag racing or road racing ) with full feature stand alone management... you don't need an E-manage.
it would be dumb to go an other route than Neptune, Chrome, Uberdata... Neptune got all the great feature, is cheap as expletive, and plenty of tunner on hand.
as stated before... a P28 can be had for around 150 $ and a obd2B harness to 0bd1 is like 80$...
it's really a no brainer choice unless you absolutly need like a nitrous control... etc etc etc... I even think Neptune can have those...
ne way!
hope this help

Re: (kranked91dx)
I have an emanage question - does the basic emanage unit control ignition maps as well, or is it just fuel? If I went with basic emanage, would I need to find a separate sloution for timing retard (planning to boost 5-6psi) or is it better to just go with ultimate in the first place?
I do not have a Hondata / Uberdata / Crome / Neptune option as my car (95 BB4) is an Auto 'box - that leaves me with VAFC hack, FMU/ML or emanage. And I'm not doing a manual swap (99% of cars here are manual, so auto is the stand-out option, plus don't tell me 'real men drive stick' - my dick's big enough already, so I don't need 'stick'!)

Re: (UK_prelude VTEC)
I believe the plain old emanage with no options can only trim fuel.
You need other harnesses to add fuel and do timing maps and the EMU has even more wires for all the other options

i love emanage.. its so ****** easy to use. all the people that say you need to buy all this extra ****.. expletive i got all my harnesses for $30.. includes fuel, ignition, and a/f. it does everything! datalogs everything! even a/f ratio and boost. it does not alter the map signal to add fuel. it does it just like any other form of engine management does it. what do you think the injector harness is for?
it is JUST AS GOOD as anything else out there. the only difference between it and the chips is that instead of it all being the real true values, you just add or take away from the stock values of the ecu. which i think makes it super easy to tune.

mike is right, if ur paying full price for a emanage, ur dumb.
2nd hand they go on ebay for like 100-150. dont pay more. The harnesses can be EASILY rigged up with a parts from electrical suppliers (even a rx7 series 4 headunit harness will plug'n'play if u wanna be lazy), a GM 3bar can be rigged up for boost above stock map, all for very little money. u can get a clone cable for $50 which gives u 16x16 fuel and timing maps, add a wideband and u can autotune, log everything under the sun etc etc etc
just to add - there is other 3rd party software out there for free, which allows digital dash, dyno runs (like a gtech) and the emange will always hold value better because it can be used on any 4-6cyl engine.
