Engine tuning for best fuel economy and best power at WOT?
I'm reading mixed numbers around the internet. For fuel economy i have read a 15 to 16 is best, i've also heard going as high as 17.
For max power, i've also heard mixed numbers, 12-13.5 for N/A, 12-12.5 for F/I, 11, etc.
So, what is it?
Can i run closed loop with air/fuel as high as 16? I've ran it as low as 12-13 in part throttle, but occasionally got some stuttering requiring me to turn the key off and on.

seeing as this is the FI forum, 15-17 = motor death.
the FI #s you posted sound good, dunno about the NA #s
I know we're all trying to save on gas, but maybe you should asjust your driving habits rather than starve your motor.
gas is cheaper than a new block.

Cruise High vac 15-16
part throttle 14-15
dip in meaing like 5 vac to like 2 psi 12.5-13
then full throttle 11.5-12.0
For safety stay in the 11s as a rule of thumb on a street car.
12 and 13s in part throttle really shouldn't give any studdering, sounds more like a timing problem there. Also if you want, you can run OPEN loop and run as lean as your motor can take really. I have seen some above 16 and still running just fine, but if you are in any kind of load, I wouldn't be in the 15-16s.

Re: Engine tuning for best fuel economy and best power at WOT? (93turbo16)
It's when i start getting into boost and come out of it in part throttle that it does the stuttering, i leaned it out a bit and it's fine.
High vacuum i guess i'll go for 16s, 10-5 i'll go for 15, 5-0: 14, 0-10: 11.5, 10-20: 11.
So, who's experienced with tuning that wants to help, i suck at it.
