Default Engine swap completed, assitance needed with rpm's!!!!

My engine blew a few days ago, so I went from a 99 y7 to a 00 y8. Swap is complete and I only threw two codes due to lack of a secondary o2 sensor. When I started the car, it shot up to 4,000 rpm and stayed there. Does anyone know why? Please help, its xmas eve and I must have my car running properly for tomorrow. TIA!!!!!!!

Check your throttle linkage.

Well, I've got the high idle calmed down. Now I have another problem. When I hit the gas or pull the throttle cable, the engine hesitates, sometimes even wants to stall out, before raising in RPM's. Any suggestions??? Please help!!!!

EDIT: Would having only one O2 sensor installed be causing this problem?

Idle problem fixed. However, it flutters back and forth from 1K to 2K, so I corrected one problem just to run into another one. Ran another diagnostic after taking it around the block and threw these codes P0113- Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input and P0505- Idle Control System Malfunction. Any ideas on how to fix these???? TIA and Happy Holidays.

Try swapping the IAT sensor from another manifold and see if that fixes that problem, could be just a bum sensor. For the IAC (idle air control) valve, take it off and clean it out the mesh screen with some brake cleaner. HTH.

I know where the one plug is, behind the intake manifold, but where is the other? The two look exactly alike and I think they are reversed too.

Both the IAT and IACV sensors are on the intake manifold. The IAT is going to be on one of the runners, and the IACV is on the back of the manifold near the throttle body with 2 coolant lines running off it. It's quite possible that you just got those two sensor clips switched around.
