Engine Question..
My motor has about 2700 miles/3 months since it's been rebuilt. It was built by a very reputable honda specialist/performance shop in NY. It was rebuilt with je piston, eagle rods, GE sleeves, brand new valvle train. Last friday my motor started to make a loud tapping noise under the valve cover area. So I bring it back to the shop who built it and they found 2 loose valves and charged me $100 to fix it. The noise was still there and they couldn't find out what it was. So I brought my car to another shop and they told me that the wrisp pin came loose and scratched the cylinder. This is now a big problem (have to rebore, get bigger pistons, and $$$). Do you think that the shop who built it 3 months/2700 miles should be liable for it? The second shop i brought the car to said that when the motor was built that they didn't put the clips in all the way. I will be calling them tomorow and see what they say, but first I wanted your guys opinion. I dont want to say the name of the shop yet. Thanks
