Engine overheating...
I never had any problems with my car overheating before. But now it's startin to do it alot especially if I mash on the gas a little. I have a stock radiator. Does anybody know the cause of this? Or should I get a new radiator cuz my stock one can't take the turbo anymore???
Are their any cracks in your radiator? Are you coolant levels low? Are both your fans working? The stock radiator should be able to handle daily driving.
I don't think there's any crack in the radiator. I just had my coolant flushed and changed and I bought one of those radiator caps that are supposed to help lower the boiling point. But I never checked the fan. Come to think of it...I don't think it's workin. I'll check it tomorrow.

My roommate's been spraying his car for some time now...
Here's what his does.. it'll warm up pretty badly, and sit just below the red line at hot....
When he gets on it, it'll come down IMMEDIATELY. Very quickly. Thne it will sit about half for a few minutes and slowly creep up to jsut bleow the red at Hot.
We've replaced the water pump, rad cap, and checked and found no leaks. Water stays full.
Any ideas? COmpression leaking into the water when not makeing high cylinder pressure? Headgasket for this reason... Possible?

We replaced the thermostat and then removed it completely when the replacement didn't work... So, no, it's not the thermostat
THanks for playing.

Well my fan works and I opened up my radiator cover to let any bubbles out. I was told that if it was my head gasket was bad that my exhaust would let out white smoke. Well my car didn't overheat today so we'll see how it does the rest of the week.
your headgasket is leaking. under normal driving you might be ok but when you step on the gas hard it leaks and you overheat. when you let go it goes back to normal. i had the SAME exact problem as you until my head gasket completely blew and white smoke went everywhere.
Yeah Id say head gasket... my honda did it, and while Im waiting for the damn swap for it, my beater mustang just did it today.... jeez tommorrow Im ripping the biotch apart and fixing it
