engine not running right - need ideas
Okay, I haven't find any help over at the integra forum, and since i want to go turbo soon and have my turbos apart right behind me i thought I'd ask in here.
I have a b18b which has the following symptoms:
Low gas mileage - 10-15mpg.
Heavy dark exhaust - very very smelly and gross.
Engine shakes when idling esp. in the cold - and whenIi open the throttle in neutral it shakes a whole lot.
This is what I've tried -
First thing i thought was maybe it's fuel pressure... just running rich (I had a turbo on this car for about a week, but since there was a minor oil leak on the turbo I took it off and am going for a rebuild.) Mabye my FPR is broken
So, I bought a fuel pressure gauge and no dice - at idle i'm right at 39psi
Second - I've had people tell me it sounds like a misfire problem, so I've replaced my plugs, wires cap and rotor. I don't really know what to make of the results - the engine hasn't changed it's behavior at all. When i took the plugs out (the old ones) they were dark black.
So where do I go from here? Is it my O2? (I am not throwing a CEL) Is it my MAP sensor? Why is my car running so poorly?
Thanks to anyone that responds - I really do appreciate it.

Re: engine not running right - need ideas (B18C4-T)
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by B18C4-T »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I'd guess bad cat since it's stinks really bad. Also your o2 may be bad. Larry</TD></TR></TABLE>
So - the cat could make my car run like this if it was 'bad'? and my o2 can be bad without throwing a CEL?

Re: engine not running right - need ideas (95hatchfire)
I knew a guy who drove his car around without his cat and o2 sensor at all.
His car didn't get great gas miliage - but it defiently didn't run rough like this or anything...
Should i just disconnect my o2 and see if it runs better then? if that doesn't work disconnect my exhuast and try that?
