Default Engine Management options

I have been searching and reading quite a bit on this question, but I'd like to get some opinions.

A buddy of mine bought a fully built D15B7 for his 91 CRX Si. In it's previous car it was boosted to 26psi, and had use of nitrous, it was quite a successful engine taking the CRX to 10.88@131mph. After a rebuild, it is once ready to go in a car.

What reasonable options would be the best for engine management? I tend to think it would be fine to use Hondata, but my buddy wants more options. Maybe a Haltech setup? He plans on running towards 20psi with the new setup.

Any info would be a big help!

Here is a picture of the engine after the rebuild....purdy aint it?

Wow, that is one badass setup if he got into the 10s with it!!! Tell him to look into the AEM EMS as well. It is a true standalone and I have heard nothing but good things about it. He can look into the Greddy E-Manage (which I have and don't like BTW), but it is a piggyback and has pretty great tuning abilities.

Accel DFI Gen 7.
You can pretty much go with any stand alone, but your tuner will tell you how far he can take you! So go with what your tuner know's best.

This is a very BROAD area..... there are many choices.... The three powerhouses being MOtec, Autronic, And my favorite electromotive, then AEM EMS, haltech, etc....... my advice.....research all of them, and find what suits you

i vote AEM EMS. I have motec for my mr2, and AEM for my civic. AEMs latest software is kickass and its only gonna get better. super cost effective.

I, believe, most stand alones that require use of there wiring harness can be used on just about any vehiecle.

Well if this is a stripped out car with no stock wiring left I would run something like Accel DFI, FAST, or Haltech all very good systems ( I currently run Haltech) but if stock wiring is there use AEM and get a jummper harness if it is in a obd0

I think the Haltech is the most bang for your buck although I don't see too much of the Honda crowd using it. You can get one for $850 and do pretty much everything that the other ECU's can if not more in some cases. Setup diagrams for it are here. http://www.k2rd.com/haltech/dr....html
I have seen them cheap here. http://www.thehorsepowershop.com/products.htm

No affiliation etc...

Agreed
Mine actually cost about 1200 brand new with the connector kit.

I think the PMS is better than the emanage, but then again, I'm biased
