Engine Build-Ups - What Engine Components can be removed?
What engine components can be removed or have been removed from your engine to go with your turbo/SC set-up? I’m planning on getting rid of all unnecessary things from my engine in my build up and would like to know exactly everything that can go, and what needs to stay. Lets say that the car is a weekend driver and less of a daily driver. Also, explain the reason or advantage of why the component can be removed. Also, lets try to add actual engine components and not just accessories that such as the balancer shafts on an H22. Keep in mind that the stock ECU is no longer in play and has been replaced by AEM EMS / Hondata. And when we say for example “xxx is removed” we mean the entire component , such as hoses, reservoirs, wires ect.
Ill start with the basics:
1. Power Steering – less stress on engine rotation, opens up space in engine compartment.
2. A/C – less stress on engine, opens up space for intercooler routing and turbo, turbo manifold or downpipe.
3. Heater – opens up space.
Anyone else want to add?

If you own a Honda, the best thing to remove is the complete engine. Tub the shell, install V8 w/ boost.

If you can withstand my endless torrent of verbal abuse and profanity without hurt feelings and wadded panties, I'm a barrel of laughs. Or at least that's what I stand in front of the mirror every morning and tell myself.
